Four enter the transfer portal

Four players from Georgia’s roster have entered the transfer portal since the national championship concluded.

Cornerback Ameer Speed, cornerback Jalen Kimber, wide receiver Jalen Johnson and wide receiver Justin Robinson are all open to playing elsewhere next year. Speed, who totaled 13 tackles in 2021, announced on Twitter that his career will continue at another program.

Tight End U

Georgia continues to assemble a roster with some of the best tight ends in all of college football.

On Wednesday, class of 2023 tight end Lawson Luckie (Norcross/Norcross, Ga.) announced he has committed to the Bulldogs. He joins a stacked group at the position.

Already on the 2022 roster are tight ends Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington. Bowers was Georgia’s leading receiver in 2021, catching 56 balls for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns. Washington, at his massive frame, showed how much of a matchup problem he can be when healthy.

The Bulldogs also already have Oscar Delp signed for the class of 2022 and Pearce Spurlin (South Walton/Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) committed in the class of 2023.

Luckie is a legacy recruit as his father Mike Luckie played for the Bulldogs in the 1990s.

Early enrollees

Radi Nabulsi noted that three early enrollees reported to campus Wednesday with three more arriving on Thursday. Since this was posted on the DawgVent, you must have a subscription to view it.

Outside the Vent

Several newcomers should have playing time opportunities at Alabama.

Former UGA OL coach Rob Sale takes the same position at Florida.

Eight teams that should be pleased following all-star weeks.
