Sugar Bowl, getting tickets is another matter.
"The demand on the tickets right now is very high as you can imagine--both
from the West Virginia standpoint and from Georgia's," said Sugar Bowl Executive
Director Paul Hoolahan. "We are at a point to where we are not trying to sell tickets, we are trying to manage tickets. There is just a high demand at this time, and I think it is indicative of that fact that both teams want to be here and both teams want to play."
Meanwhile in Athens, the UGA ticket office has been inundated with more than
27,000 requests for the January 2nd matchup at the Georgia Dome. Each team is
allotted just 15,000 tickets, and just who they will go two will be announced on
Dec. 9.
Contributors to the GEEF who made requests for tickets before Nov. 18 will be
first on the list. The UGA Athletic Association announced the Monday the
following breakdown for those eligible.
  • Patrons with a cumulative score of 100,000 and greater will be eligible to receive up to eight (8) tickets
  • Patrons with a cumulative score of 30,000-99,999 will be eligible to receive up to four (4) tickets
  • Patrons with a cumulative score of 29,999 and below will be eligible to receive up to two (2) tickets.
  • "I think it is going to be a great atmosphere, I do not think there is any doubt about that," said UGA head coach Mark Richt.
