With Nick Chubb and Sony Michel set to graduate, Georgia coaches knew they'd have to hit the jackpot with the 2018 signing class.
It appears they've done just that.
Incoming freshman Zamir "Zeus" White was the nation's top running back target according to Rivals, and along with fellow freshman James Cook, the Bulldogs' backfield is once again shaping up to be something special.
What Georgia is getting in White
In White, Georgia is getting a back that, from appearances, can do it all.
At 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds, the North Carolina native is a unique combination of power and speed who is just as adept running between the tackles as he is breaking long runs on the outside.
As the nation's 10th-ranked player, there appears to be no reason White can't come in and enjoy stellar success for the Bulldogs.
The only drawback, White is recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in November, although a full recovery is expected.
Rivals Recruiting Analyst Adam Gorney: "Georgia fans know all about excellent running backs. The next in line could be White, the top-ranked running back in the class who rushed for more than 5,000 yards and 85 touchdowns in his illustrious high school career. Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, and D'Andre Swift were the three-headed monster for the Bulldogs this season and it helped lead them to the SEC Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff. White and fellow Georgia signee James Cook, could be even more special - if that’s even fathomable."
What to expect
Typically, a torn ACL takes nine months to recover from, and being White's injury happened in November, there's every reason to think that he'll be ready to start practice sometime during preseason drills in August.
Still, look for Ron Courson to take it easy with the talented freshman, making sure he's 100 percent before easing him back out on the field.
With Georgia's depth at running back, there will be no push to rush him back.
Once he's back to 100 percent - watch out.
Playing time prediction
As we've touched on earlier, White's playing time will be determined by how quickly he recovers from his torn ACL.
Being that he's already on campus and under the watchful eye of Courson, there's every reason to expect that White will be ready in a prompt manner.
As far as early playing time, Georgia won't have to rush him with the presence of D'Andre Swift, James Cook, Elijah Holyfield and Brian Herrien.
But the guess here is, once White is deemed ready, he'll be allowed to make an impact sooner rather than later.
