After yesterday's addition of 2022 five-star defensive tackle Tyre West, the Bulldogs kept the momentum rolling on Thursday with a commitment from Appling County junior Darris Smith.

A 6-foot-6, 225-pound four-star pass rusher out of Baxley, Georgia, Smith becomes the Bulldogs' fifth commitment of the Class of 2022.

"I talked to Coach [Dan] Lanning about the Georgia offer and I am super excited about it," Smith told Chad Simmons in late October. "At the game last year, the football stadium was my favorite part. I liked how the crowd was into the game too."

Smith joins West, four-star defensive backs Deyon Bouie and Marquis Groves-Killebrew, and four-star athlete CJ Washington in what is a strong and Georgia-centric start to the 2022 cycle.
