UGA officials deny report
University of Georgia officials harshly denied Monday that Virginia Commonwealth's Anthony Grant has been contacted about the vacant head basketball coaching job with the Bulldogs.
VCU athletic director Norwood Teague did not immediately return a call from UGASports, but according to published reports Monday, VCU officials denied that Georgia has contacted the school seeking permission to speak with Grant, whose name as been mentioned as the possible successor to Felton who was fired last month.

In an email to Bulldog beat writers, Georgia Sports Information Director Claude Felton responded to a website report that Grant had met with UGA president Dr. Michael Adams in Atlanta over the weekend.
"I can say with complete authority that neither Damon Evans nor Dr. Adams has ever had a conversation with Anthony Grant as of today, Monday, March 23," Felton said in the email, which he sent to beat writer reprimanding the reporter from the website which claimed that Adams met with and offered the job to Grant Saturday at 4 p.m.
"In my time here at UGA, I don't know that I've seen more erroneous reporting," Felton said.
