A Complete Look at Quarterback Recruiting

Georgia scholarship offers to quarterbacks seem to fly out daily as of late, but how many are there really? How do the Bulldogs stand?

We take a look at every quarterback offer on the table, the latest news on each, and how Georgia stands from Cold (slim to no chance), Cool (slight chance), Warm (good chance), and Hot (strong chance).

After rating each, we'll venture a guess on what happens in the end.

The Chance: Cold. Thompson does little media, but his decision came down to the Bruins or Michigan. There's been almost nothing to suggest he'd look elsewhere.

The Chance: Cold. Georgia didn't even crack his top five, much less his top three.

The Chance: Cool. Of the committed quarterbacks, Georgia may have the best chance with Fields, but that hinges heavily on his visit schedule. His family connection to Athens (a sister playing softball for the Dawgs) could move the needle. Florida, among others, is pressing also, so he doesn't lack for options.

The Chance: Cool. The only reason to not rule Milton out completely is because of his frequent presence in Athens prior to his commitment. Still, the Wolverines seem to have him on lock with little wavering.

The Chance: Cold. Gatewood has been a longtime Auburn commit, and, as of now, there's no reason to expect that to change.

The Chance: Cold. Martinez seemed like a possibility before his quick decommitment from Cal and subsequent commitment to Tennessee. Now, he's likely off the board.

The Chance: Cold. That Georgia didn't even crack the top five for Mayden is a clear sign.

The Chance: Cool. Georgia made the final grouping for Foster, so there's reason to hold hope they can reenter the race, but Mizzou is making him a centerpiece of 2018.

The Chance: Warm. If Georgia decides to pursue Graham as a quarterback, its chances likely increase. He's an impressive athlete who can play a number of spots, but he prefers quarterback first.

The Chance: Cool. Mordecai does little media, so he's tough to gauge, but Ole Miss is a major player early on. This rating is more subject to change than most.

The Chance: Cool. Can Georgia make an impact here? Yes, but Bryant's head is still spinning from his experience with the Bulldogs offer and the subsequent Wisconsin decommitment he was urged into. Monitor this one.

The Chance: Cold. Georgia's offer to Williams during his short decommitment did little to move the needle.

The Chance: Cold. It looks as if there are only two competitors at this point, as mentioned in the article above. Georgia isn't one.

The Chance: Cool. Jackson released his top five before the Georgia offer came in, so we won't totally write them off. But it's not a good sign he was that far along before the Bulldogs pulled the trigger.

If you twisted my arm to pick one of the guys on the list, I'd be most compelled to go with Fitzgerald's James Graham. The real question is whether or not the Bulldogs believe that quarterback is his spot. Still, it's what he wants to play, and he's a versatile weapon who can help a football team somewhere. I say take him as a quarterback, and, if it doesn't work out, give him a run at cornerback or wideout.

Personally, I think Georgia ends up finding their 2018 quarterback during camp season, so the upcoming months will be key to watch in that regard. A guy who can run 7-on-7 would be an excellent fit to handle practice duties, which is largely what this year's take is going to be dealing with for his imminent future.
