Taylor racking up offers

The early signing period for the class of 2013 is still over a year away, but it's never too early to get started recruiting top-level prospects. The Georgia Bulldogs basketball coaching staff has started offering several different 2013 prospects, including Greensboro (Al.) power forward Jimmie Taylor. UGASports recently caught up with the Rivals150 prospect to see what he thinks of the Georgia Bulldogs and what other schools the Dawgs will be competing with to sign him.
"Things are picking up right now. It's like I get a new offer every week," Taylor said. "Alabama, Auburn, Georgetown, N.C. State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, and a few others have offered already."

Georgia assistant coach Philip Pearson is from Alabama, played at Alabama, and coached at Alabama for a long time so he knows the state very well. Because of that, he's been aware of Taylor for a couple years now.
"They just offered me in June but they have been recruiting me for a while," Taylor said of Georgia. "I've been talking to Coach Pearson. He's a pretty good guy."
The 6'9 215-pound forward just picked up his offer from the Georgia Bulldogs a little over a month ago, but he's interested in what they have to offer.
"Yeah, I'm interested in Georgia," Taylor said. "They're not too far away from home, Coach Fox has developed a few big men, and they are in the league now."
At this point in the process, Taylor says he is going to remain open and not claim any favorites.
"I can't really say right now," Taylor said when asked which schools he is favoring right now.
As for when a decision might come, the 4-star Alabama native has an idea of when he will commit but no set date.
"I dont really know that either. I may not commit til my senior year though once I take my visits," Taylor said. "I'm looking at a school's style of play, how good they will develop me, academics, and playing time when I make my decision."
