The Rivals100 wide receiver is one of the most impressive athletes in the entire country, and he made the decision Tuesday that he wanted to be a Bulldog.
Rogers chose Georgia over schools like Florida, Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound receiver has been timed under 4.4 in the forty-yard dash, and had 66 catches for 1300 yards and 11 touchdowns last year. Rogers is rated as the fourth best receiver in the country, and 22nd overall.
He was recently featured in a Rivals AMP feature as a possible future five star prospect. Now reunited with best friend and quarterback Nash Nance, look for Rogers to put up the kind of numbers that could push him into that elite status.
Florida was thought to be the leader early on for Rogers, but in the end, the University of Georgia was where Rogers felt more comfortable.
He hinted to UGASports at the Calhoun Spring scrimmage that he was leaning toward the Bulldogs, citing a great relationship with the staff and the chance to stay home and contribute early as deciding factors.
Now that he knows where he will be playing in college, Rogers can focus on having a monster senior season, and leading his Calhoun Yellow Jackets to the state championship game. More to come on this big time commitment for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Rogers is the fifth commitment for UGA in the 2010 class, and joins the following players in the Bulldogs class:
1. Jalen Fields - DE- 6-foot-5, 250-pounds, 4.65 -Dalton, Ga.
2. Marc Deas - S- 6-foot, 185, 4.48 -Kissimmee, Fl.
3. Kolton Houston - OG/DT- 6-5, 270, -Buford, Ga.
4. B.J. Butler - LB- 6-foot-3, 240, 4.65 -Kissimmee, Fl
