One of the biggest rumors of the off-season came to fruition Tuesday when backup quarterback Brice Ramsey announced he was transferring from Georgia.

Ramsey, who will have one year of eligibility remaining, says he plans to transfer to another school.

He wasn’t the only one.

Earlier, UGASports reported that backup defensive back Reggie Wilkerson also planned to transfer, which the school also later confirmed.

Both will complete their degrees from UGA in May and plan to transfer at the end of the current semester. They will be eligible to play immediately under the NCAA graduate transfer provision.

"Our sincerest thanks to both Brice and Reggie for their contributions to the University in general and the Bulldog football program in particular over these past four years," said UGA head coach Kirby Smart. "We wish them all the best at their next destination and final season of eligibility."

The news comes after Ramsey was contacted and asked about reports by sources to UGASports.com that he was no longer attending any of the quarterback meetings along with Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm.

At the time, Ramsey said he did not know where those rumors were coming from and he did not have notion of transferring from UGA.

Those plans obviously changed with Tuesday’s announcement.

Ramsey ends his Georgia career with 582 passing yards, with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

He also served as the punter for the Bulldogs last year with when freshman Marshall Long went down with a knee injury.
