Player Countdown to Kickoff - No. 69

Spring Review: Well he performed well enough that the coaches rewarded Frix with a scholarship and barring injury will continue to serve as Georgia's snapper, a position he plays with great pride and execution.

Fall Preview: Long-snappers obviously don't receive a lot of attention unless they make a mistake. That said don't look for Frix's name to be called hardly at all. The Calhoun native is as solid as they come.
Ty Frix is the current number 69 for Georgia and this March he was rewarded with a scholarship. He was the snapper for every game last season. His father Dr. Mitch Frix was the snapper for the 1981 and 1982 SEC Champion Bulldogs.
Antonio Fleming wore 69 for Georgia in the mid 90's. He started every game for two straight seasons from 1996 to 1997. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 1998 NFL Draft and played for the Frankfort Galaxy in NFL Europe in 2000.
In the Georgia Tech game back in 1991, the Bulldogs trailed the Yellow Jackets 5 to 0 in the first quarter, then sophomore Garrison Hearst took over. Hearst scampered his way and scored from 69 yards out and Georgia would go on to an 18 to 15 victory. It was the first of seven straight victories that the Dawgs had over their state-rivals.
69 was the number of tackles Robert Edwards had in his first two seasons as a Bulldog cornerback. After his sophomore season he switched sides to the offense and eventually became a 1st round draft pick (Richard Samuel, are you reading this?).
Another Bulldog that changed positions a few times was Hines Ward. The future Super Bowl MVP started at running back as a freshman, then moved to quarterback as a sophomore and wide receiver his final two seasons. In 1995, he finished his season with 69 pass completions (he had 31 more in the Peach Bowl, but back then bowl stats did not count).
1969 - Georgia Record: 5-5-1
