Hyatt holds his own

NORCROSS - Fresh off a big region win against Norcross, North Gwinnett offensive lineman Mitch Hyatt was candid in discussing his battle against Norcross defensive end Lorenzo Carter, his recent visit to UGA, and his future plans on the recruiting trail.
"I didn't know what to expect going in. He's changed a lot from last year to this year. This year, I've gotten a lot better, so I didn't know what to expect, and he really came out hard," Hyatt said of his match-up with Carter. "I knew it was going to be a long day."
The star junior matched up with Carter almost all night. Carter won the majority of the battles in the first half while Hyatt appeared to rebound with a strong second half.
The clash of the five-stars came less than a week after Hyatt's visit to Georgia, a visit where he saw the Bulldogs take down the South Carolina Gamecocks in a tightly contested ballgame.
"It was a good experience," Hyatt said of his time in Athens. "They had a great atmosphere. It was a great game. It was an awesome, awesome time to be there."
While top programs across the country are vying for his services, the 2015 blue chipper made it clear that nothing is set in stone going forward.
He did, however, mention the possibility of another trip to one school that is considered the front-runner for his services.
"I might be going back to Clemson. I might be hitting a few other spots; I'm not really too sure where. We'll have to see."
