Georgia has suffered its biggest loss to the transfer portal yet.

Bulldog receiver AD Mitchell is entering the transfer portal. The news came on Wednesday, the final day of the current transfer window.

Mitchell burst onto the scene with a strong freshman season in 2021. The Texas native caught 29 passes for 426 yards and four touchdowns. He most famously caught a go-ahead touchdown in the national championship game against Alabama.

An ankle injury sidelined Mitchell for most of the 2022 season. He played in just three games during the regular season, catching five passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Mitchell returned for the postseason, beginning with the SEC Championship Game against LSU. He didn't register any stats in that game but caught four passes for 65 yards in the College Football Playoff.

In each playoff game, Mitchell registered a touchdown. He caught the go-ahead score in the closing minutes against Ohio State. Mitchell caught a touchdown in all four College Football Playoff games he played while in Athens.

Mitchell is the third receiver to depart the Georgia program this offseason, joining Kearis Jackson (NFL Draft) and Dominick Blaylock (transfer portal). The Bulldogs added Dominic Lovett and RaRa Thomas out of the transfer portal earlier this offseason.
