Offensive line push
Dayne: Nineteen of Georgia's 24 first downs came on running plays. The Bulldogs overpowered South Carolina's defensive front and ran for a total of 332 yards, averaging a bit more than seven yards per carry. Zamir White is virtually untouched here, because of Jamaree Salyer's quick feet to get to the second level and occupy the middle linebacker.
Brent: This, and the James Cook touchdown below, are the reasons the predominant running scheme in football today is inside zone. The running back presses to the right side, fully knowing the cutback is often there if the defense flows too far. The play is made by left guard Justin Shaffer handling his one-on-one, and then an outstanding effort from Salyer, getting to the second level as Dayne mentions, but also chipping the edge defender to set up Tre' McKitty. Teaching tape in all areas but one: Even though it wasn't needed, a good bit more effort from the wide receivers would be nice.
