DeMarcus Dobbs has verbally committed to the
University of Georgia. In a brief message posted on their site, they say that
Dobbs called UGA defensive end coach Jon Fabris Tuesday morning to deliver the
news. He is said to be planning to call head coach Mark Richt this afternoon.
If the story checks out to be true, Dobbs will be the 21st high school senior
to commit to the Bulldogs for the Class of 2006. Two prospects from last season
who came up short academically have also said they will be honoring their
commitment to UGA to bring the total to 23.
Dobbs would be the team's fifth defensive end commitment, though at least one
of these players will likely move inside to defensive tackle as he gets bigger.
UGASports.com will have a full report on this breaking story soon.
