Dawgs seal the deal with Swift

Kirby Smart and his staff's focus is on the season opener against North Carolina on Satuday, but today they did some damage on the recruiting trail. Four-star running back D'Andre Swift (Philadelphia, Penn./St. Joseph's) announced that he'll be taking his talents to Georgia

Swift, the No. 3 running back in the 2017 class, recently narrowed his list of 24 offers down to five with Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Penn State joining Georgia on that list. The previous Georgia coaching staff initially offered Swift and sparked his interest before Kirby Smart and his staff came in and sealed the deal.

He becomes the second running back to join Georgia's 2017 recruiIting class. Toneil Carter, a four-star running back out of Texas, committed to the Bulldogs in July at The Opening.

This is the third time since the 2012 class where the Dawgs have signed two four-star (or better) running backs in the same class. Todd Gurley (4-star) and Keith Marshall (4-star) both were members of the 2012 class, while Sony Michel (5-star) and Nick Chubb (4-star) hopped on board in the 2014 class.

Mark Webb, a four-star wide receiver, is a close friend of Swift's in the Philadelphia area. It's widely believed that the Dawgs are the favorite to add Webb as the two have made it known they would like to attend the same school. Webb's father told UGASports that Webb would announce within the week. Stay Tuned.
