Deion Sanders added quality depth to his receiver core on Tuesday, scoring a commitment from former Florida State wideout Hykeem Williams. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder will have two years of eligibility remaining with Colorado.
Williams entered Tallahassee with a big reputation as the No. 26 overall prospect in the 2023 class for Rivals, after averaging 19.1 yards a catch at Stranahan High School (Fla.).
Still, that didn’t amount to much last season, Williams posted just 187 receiving yards on 16 receptions in nine games.
Williams averaged 12.7 yards per catch during his time in Tallahassee.
Now, he joins an air-it-out offense that threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns last season.
Williams will have strong quarterback options next season, a fact that, no doubt, contributed to his decision to head to Boulder with Liberty transfer quarterback Kaidon Slater and Julian Lewis likely competing for the Buffs starting job.
