Bulldog fan gets his shots in during Chaney press conference

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Reporters weren’t the only ones asking the questions of offensive coordinator Jim Chaney during Wednesday’s press conference here at the Embassy Suites.

Apparently, a Bulldog fan – unbeknownst to officials of the Liberty Bowl – managed to get in and ask some of his own.

It certainly provided some comic relief leading up to Friday’s game against Texas Christian (noon, ESPN).

“Are you going to win it?” the middle-aged fan, dressed in a button up Bulldog shirt, asked.

Chaney, who was speaking to the media for the first time since August, played along.

“We’re gonna play super hard, and hang onto the football; we’re gonna do everything we possibly can to try to get a victory,” he responded with a smile.

The fan wasn’t through.

“Because the last time we were here, we lost,” Mr. Bulldog replied, referring to Georgia's 10-6 loss to UCF at the Liberty Bowl in 2010.

“Well, I wasn’t here that day,” Chaney answered back.

“That’s why we put the burden on you,” the fan responded.

Chaney smiled, and agreed.

“That’s okay. I feel that burden every day I wake up, so I’m comfortable with that,” he said. “We’re gonna do everything we can to try to win the ballgame.”

“Yes sir,” said Mr. Fan, apparently satisfied with what Georgia’s offensive coordinator had to say.
