A - "Aggie head coach DeWayne Walker hired offensive coordinator Doug Martin early this spring. With seven seasons under his belt as the head coach at Kent State University and eight as the offensive coordinator, Martin was instrumental in building a true football program of the past several seasons. Over the past four years, Martin's offense at Kent State recorded a remarkable 16,907 yards of total offense, averaging 422.6 yards per game

during that spanned including 26.3 points a game. The spring season exhibited a much improved Aggie offense. Aggie fans can expect to see some new wrinkles to the offense, one being moving

the H-Back, Kenny Turner, to the

slot, which will at times leave the Aggie backfield empty allowing for more passing attempts, screen plays, and shuffle passes."

Q - How is the quarterback situation shaping up? Last year four players saw significant time there. Will one be able to emerge from the pack?

A - "Last season, the Aggie offense featured a two-quarterback rotation, which affected the offense's ability to move the ball consistently. To alleviate that situation this year, coach Walker announced during spring practice that sophomore quarterback,

Andrew Manley would be the starter.

Manley played in five games for the Aggies as a true freshman in 2010, starting four games. He tallied 604 passing yards on 63-of-121 passing, with six interceptions and a touchdown pass."

Q - What's the biggest of concern on defense for the Aggies)?

A - "The secondary, with the linebacker crew a close second. The Aggies lost DB

Davon House to graduation (drafted by the Green Bay Packers). House basically shut one side of the field down against opposing offenses.

The secondary will be tested this season with a few newcomers. As for the linebackers, that's always been a weak spot on the Aggie defense in past years. JUCO

Alex Lavoy (Butte C.C., Reno, NV) comes in with high

expectations. Other than that, it could be long year for the linebacker corp."

Q - Will the Aggies be counting on many freshmen to come in and make immediate contributions?

A - "A few freshmen stand out so far, those being WR Adam Shapiro (6'0",

182), OL Valerian Ume-Ezeoke (6'2", 257) and WR Austin Franklin (5'9", 154), are also expected to make an impact."

Q - What's your prediction for New Mexico State this fall?

A - "Simple answer is "game by game". Too many unknowns exist with a new

offensive coordinator, new full-time QB, and a remix on defense. Record-wise, I predict a 4-9 (13 games allowed by NCAA rules as NMSU plays at Hawaii), with the four wins coming over Ohio, San Jose St., New Mexico,

and either Louisiana Tech or Utah St."
