CINCINNATI - Tu Holloway overcame a sore shooting hand and scored 12 points Friday night, leading a balanced offense that carried No. 12 Xavier to a 70-56 victory over poor-shooting Georgia.
Holloway, who hurt his right hand during practice, missed his only shot in the first half. He made all eight of his free throws and had four assists, helping Xavier (4-0) extend its success against the Southeastern Conference.
Georgia (3-2) missed its first 11 shots, fell behind 10-0 and never recovered, trailing by 36 points midway through the second half.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 14 points for the Bulldogs, who trailed by 36 points midway through the second half.
Xavier has won eight of its last nine games against SEC teams since 2008, beating Georgia three times during that span. The Musketeers also have wins over Florida, Auburn and Louisiana State.
Georgia returns to action Monday at Colorado.
