Wims makes it official

Georgia received some pass catching help for their 2016 class on Saturday afternoon, as good news came from Javon Wims (Raymond, MS/Hinds Community College).
The 6-foot-4 junior college wide receiver made his commitment official.

"The coaches know," Wims told UGASports following his decision to commit. "Coach [Mark] Richt and Coach [Bryan] McClendon know. They were excited when I told them. They can't wait to coach me. They have been evaluating me all year, and they are excited."
Wims attended Dawg Night at Georgia back in July, and it was there that the mutual interest began between the two sides.
"I attended camp there this past summer, and I loved the quarterback they have coming in (Jacob Eason)," Wims said. "He's an Elite 11 quarterback. I have a really good relationship with Coach McClendon, and the situation just seemed right. If the situation stays the same, and they don't have a coaching change, it seems right."
Rumors have been going around recently with Georgia's on-field struggles that there could be some changes coming in Athens. If that does happen, Wims could waver.
"It may impact my decision if they have a change, but right now, I'm going to Georgia," Wims said.
On the season, Wims has hauled in 47 catches for 775 yards and has found the end zone for nine touchdowns.
Wims graduates from Hinds in May and plans to enroll at Georgia next summer.
He joins Darion Anderson, Davion Curtis, and Randrecous Davis as the wide receivers committed to Georgia's 2016 recruiting class.
