Georgia’s basketball team received a major blow on Thursday with the news that guard Silas Demary Jr. plans on entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Demary Jr. confirmed the news in a text to UGASports.
Demary Jr. played a major role in each of the past two seasons for the Bulldogs, earning All-Freshman honors his first year with the program, before enjoying a solid sophomore campaign that saw him finish second on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
In Georgia’s six previous games before the SEC Tournament, Demary Jr. averaged 20.5 points per game. He led the team in assists (3.1 apg) and steals (1.7 spg).
