Rising Seniors Superlatives

The first day of Rising Seniors is in the books, and even the check-in for the
yearly showcase was an event in and of itself. UGASports.com was on hand as the

top juniors in the state made their way to Buckhead, and we have our
superlatives ready to hand out.
The 2014 Rising Senior Superlatives
Most in need of a shave - Chidi Okonya, DE, Riverdale
Okonya, who measured in a 6'6 and looks to be in great shape, came to Buckhead
sporting an uncharacteristic beard but looking sharp.
Best dressed - Khalil Ladler, Stephenson
Could have gone to multiple candidates, but Ladler's hyper yellow Nikes were a
cut above the rest of his competition.
Bruce Lee Award - Akeam Peters, DB, Tucker
Peters wasn't the biggest guy at registration size-wise, but in changing into
his jersey for his head shot, he looked more cut than a crystal chandelier.
Future Reporter Award - Malik Walker, DE, Macon County
Walker was dropping dime on his Macon County teammate Roquan Smith, saying that
his college decision was one of the worst kept secrets in Montezuma.
Manimal Award - Charles Wiley, DE, Stockbridge
Wiley's shoulders were reason enough to invite him to the showcase.  He looked
like he was wearing shoulder pads under his t-shirt. Ridiculous build.
Best Hair - Caleeb Roberson, DB, Burke County
Roberson's small dreads were pulled back and looking sleek.  He'll look to keep
them out of his face covering some of the state's best this week.
Best Name - Zebuliah Noland, QB, Oconee County
"Zeb", as he's known, is a pretty good name to being with, but once we found out the whole
name, there was no doubt who had the best moniker.
Most College Gear - Ben Cleveland, OT, Stephens County
The hat, the shirt, the shorts….it was all Dawgs for the massive Cleveland, who
looked as much like a Georgia billboard as he did a participant in the
festivities.  Good luck getting him to lose his camo Georgia hat.  "I wear that
thing everywhere!" Cleveland said when asked to remove it for pictures.
Most Country - Allen Williams, OT, Appling County
Ben Cleveland is well known as "Big Country", but Williams' accent could give
him a run for his money.  He's got a five-star drawl.
Most Likely To Book His Own Hotel Room - Julian Rochester, DT, McEachern
Much ado has been made of Rochester's mammoth size and "check his birth
certificate" look, and he did not disappoint today.  Rochester is either
one of the most physically impressive prospects in the building, or a 35 year
old man moonlighting as a high school defensive tackle.  Today's session
certainly didn't help to answer which.
The "Don't Read Too Far Into It" Award - Marlon Character, DB, Grady
Character was sporting a Georgia shirt at registration and had mentioned the
possibility that he might commit during this showcase.  He seems to have backed
off of those plans and laughed off the notion that his attire showed his hand in
regards to a future home.  "I've got a lot of gear," Character said.
"5 Mississippi" Award - TJ London, DT, Carver
Another of the biggest men to cross through the Westin lobby, London should be
forced to count "5 Mississippi" before he rushes the quarterback to make the
game fair.  Not the guy you want chasing you down or, worse, falling on you.
Star Power Award - Elijah Holyfield, RB, Woodward Academy
We've mentioned the last name before, and today, the Elijah's dad, Evander "The
Real Deal", tagged along to see his son off to registration.  The Holyfields
could be seen taking a family portrait during registration.
Line of the Day - Chauncey Manac, DE, Clinch County
When asked what time he began his journey from Homerville, Manac simply replied,
"5.  I got up with the chickens this mornin'."
This and That
Elbert County's Mecole Hardman caught a brief piggy back ride on Ben
Cleveland, but it was hard to tell if the big guy even noticed carrying a little
extra weight….Former Georgia Bulldog and current Auburn safety Tray Matthews was
part of a Rising Seniors Alumni panel to discuss the recruiting and college
process with current players….Former NFL standout and Auburn great Takeo Spikes
lead the panel...Look for one on one matchups to shake the ground.  Our must
see?  Ben Cleveland versus Derrick Brown, a rematch from the Five-Star Challenge
this summer.
