Nation's top specialist commits to the G

After losing a commitment to start the day, the Bulldogs found their pledge list back up to two soon after G-Day.

That was thanks to Norcross kicker Jake Camarda, ranked No. 1 at his position by Rivals.com, who announced via Twitter that he would stay near to home for his college years.

Originally offered in mid-February, Camarda is the first kicker that the Kirby Smart regime has offered a full scholarship to in their three classes with the program.

While Smart initially hinted that he preferred to go the walk on route for specialists, Camarda will take a scholarship spot in Athens.

"It is a full scholarship to come in and compete for all disciplines," Camarda told UGASports.com soon after receiving his offer in February.

According to Maxpreps.com statistics, the 6-foot-2, 180 pound specialist averaged 38.9 yards per punt, was 40-percent (3 of 7) on field goals, and posted 14 touchbacks to go along with an average kickoff distance of 59.7 yards.

Camarda chose Georgia over offers from Rutgers and Kentucky.
