Kirby Smart likes physical receivers and early enrollee Kearis Jackson certainly fits that bill.

The former Peach County standout isn't afraid of contact, and is likely already one of the strongest wide receivers on the team, a trait that should serve him well.

As we continue our nine-part series taking a look at Georgia's early enrollees, let's examine what the nation's No. 172 player brings to the table for the Bulldogs.

What Georgia is getting in Jackson

That's pretty easy - a player who is not afraid to play the game the right way.

Jackson doesn't mind catching the ball in traffic and he doesn't mind blocking on the perimeter, two traits that should endear him to Smart and Georgia's offensive coaches.

Although he may not be the fastest receiver around, Jackson has enough speed and will bring a strong work ethic to Georgia as he vies for early playing time this fall.

Rivals Southeast Analyst Chad Simmons on Jackson: "He's a kid wh0's physical, he's strong, he's not the biggest, not the fastest, but the kid can make plays. He's sneaky quick, he breaks tackles and gets yards after the catch is where he shines."

What to expect

Look for Jackson to come in this spring and get plenty of opportunities to show that he can be an early contributor.

Right now, it's believed that he'll be worked into the slot, where he can take advantage of his physical style to make plays and break tackles across the middle of the field.

Although it remains to be seen how high Jackson can rise on the pecking order, there's no reason not to expect he'll be on the field for Georgia sooner rather than later.

Playing time prediction

Despite the graduation of Javon Wims, there isn't a shortage of capable bodies at wide receiver for the Bulldogs.

Nevertheless, assuming Jackson can do all the things we said he could - block and play a physical style - that's going to ensure him getting on the field early in some capacity.

Even if he's not a part of the regular rotation to start, Jackson will certainly help on special teams due to his play-making abilities.

Don't sell the young man short. We're not.

"I’m bringing speed, toughness, athleticism. Whatever you want to call it, I’m bringing it."
