After just one season with Florida State, defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. has entered the transfer portal, Rivals has learned.

Jones spent the 2024 campaign with the Seminoles after playing two seasons with Georgia in 2022 and 2023.

Jones played in 11 games for Florida State in 2024, with nine starts. He recorded 25 total tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks and one forced fumble.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jones played 387 defensive snaps. The Seminoles used him in a variety of ways, as Jones lined up as both a defensive end and outside linebacker, and he played a few snaps in the interior as well. Jones recorded an overall defensive grade of 61.7.

In two seasons with Georgia, Jones appeared in 25 games, including one start. He amassed 16 tackles, 5.5 for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.

In 36 career games between the Seminoles and Bulldogs, Jones totaled 41 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six sacks and two forced fumbles.

Jones was a five-star weak-side defensive end prospect out of American Heritage in Florida in the 2022 class. He ranked as one of the top prospects in the country, checking in at No. 13 overall in the Rivals250. He also ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Florida and No. 2 at his position in the 2022 cycle.
