Eason's game-winning TD not only resulted in a victory for Dawgs...

Having done so in his second career start at Georgia, JACOB EASON's initial 300-yard passing performance follows the likes of (L to R) HINES WARD against Virginia in 1995, LARRY RAKESTRAW at Miami in 1963, and JOE COX at Arkansas in 2009.

Pat’s Weekly Stat (you likely won’t see anywhere else): Jacob Eason’s 20-yard game-winning touchdown pass to Isaiah McKenzie at Missouri is historical in UGA football lore for not only the obvious reason, but it also established the first 300-yard passing performance for Georgia’s freshman quarterback. Therefore, making only his second career start in three games, Eason became the second-fastest Bulldog according to his career start number to pass for 300 yards in a single game.

I did some research, discovering the initial—and, for some, the only—300-yard passing performance for Georgia players. The 15 Bulldogs to pass for 300+ yards are ranked by the career start number whereby they initially achieved as much, while ties are broken by the lower career game number whereupon they first reached the 300-yard mark. In conclusion, each player's career number of 300-yard passing games they totaled is listed. And, I've recognized bowl games in individual start/game totals, as well:

* Including his time at Virginia, Lambert's initial 300-yard passing game resulted in his 16th game/9th start, but 3rd game/3rd start at Georgia. ** Ward's initial 300-yard passing game resulted in his 6th game/5th start at quarterback, whereas his 22nd game/12th start regardless of position. *** All of Trippi's games were at tailback/halfback, and not quarterback like the others. **** Although Bobo's initial 300-yard passing performance resulted in his 16th career game, it occurred with him having come off the bench in relief, and between his 12th and 13th starts.
