On if he considered the transfer portal:

"Nah man, I am staying it out and trusting the process. As I've matured over the years this is the place I want to be. It doesn't get better than the University of Georgia."

On how spring practice has gone for him:

“I’ve been going back and forth between safety and our star position. At this point, I’m cross-training, getting reps at both safety and star. There is not one position that I am getting more. It’s probably split. I think I’ve had a pretty good spring. It’s been productive. Trying to take it practice by practice, and focus on getting better. That’s the main objective of the spring, just getting better. Getting closer and closer, and getting ready for the next season.”

On what drew him to Georgia:

"A lot of things impacted me to come to the University of Georgia. First and foremost, the culture that Coach Kirby Smart and the coaching staff has established. I feel like it’s a big brotherhood. It’s not just words. Some people just say, ‘Okay, you have to have the bond and the things like that to be a great team.’ But I really do believe that. They’ve built it into this program year after year. Just being surrounded by a lot of likeminded players just trying to get towards the same goal. It’s something that is really important to me, as well, and I feel like once I got into that portal, it was pretty easy to make my decision from there.”

On the importance of development and waiting his turn to become a full-time starter:

"I would say that it was pretty crucial, especially for my development, like you were saying. Just being able to not only get some playtime quality moments, but just learn from other guys, starting all the way back from Jamaree Salyer, Broderick Jones, Warren McClendon [Jr.], Warren Ericson, up to Tate Ratledge, Justin Shaffer, just all the guys that I've been here for a while now. So, just all the guys, you know, just pull something from each and every one of them to apply it to my game and just develop".

On the new transfers:

"They're great players. They came from great programs. They learned the standard, and now they're just learning everyday and getting better."

On why he chose to stay at Georgia:

"It's Georgia, you know? You come to Georgia to be a good player, and that's who I want to be. There's a standard around here, and if you play to that standard, you'll be set."

On his decision to go to Georgia and the transfer portal:

"So, when I was deciding what I should do following two seasons ago, I decided to go into the transfer portal looking for a new spot. Georgia reached out. I was looking to get out of my comfort zone and get out of California, where I've lived my whole life. Georgia was a perfect spot. They have a long history of excellence. To be the best you've got to be the best. The standard at Georgia is super high and being in this environment with great people, great coaches, great teammates, has been great for me."

On his focus this spring:

"There's always places to get better at, even if you think you are good enough you are never good enough. When you're in college you're still preparing for the goals to go to the NFL. I don't feel like you become an NFL kicker when you get there. You get there in college. So, working on that goal every day to get better whether that's mindset, technique. I feel like it's important to always try to improve little by little everyday to help the team too."
