Trenton Thompson has changed his mind.
After initially saying he intended to return to Georgia for his senior year, the junior from Albany, Ga., announced on Twitter that he intends to leave the Bulldog program and make himself available for the NFL Draft.
"After long discussion with my family and coaches I have decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft," Thompson wrote on Instagram. "I would like to thank my family, teammates, Coach Smart and the rest of the staff for all their support the last three years.
"Coming to Athens was the best decision of my life and the memories and friendships I've made will last a lifetime. Playing in the NFL has been a lifelong dream of mine and I'm excited to see what the future holds. Even though I'm moving to the next chapter, Georgia will always be home! I certainly want to thank the greatest fans in the country for their passion and support! Thank you Jolly Nation and Go Dawgs!!"
With Thompson's decision, the Bulldogs will now lose two members off last year's defensive line, including senior nose guard John Atkins.
The MVP of the 2016 Liberty Bowl, Thompson played 13 games for the Bulldogs this season, making 38 tackles, including three for losses of seven yards.
