MOBILE - The honors keep coming for former Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey and safety Javon Bullard.
On Friday, McConkey was named the top wide receiver on the American Team from this week’s Senior Bowl practices.
Bullard, meanwhile, was voted the top safety for the American team.
Both players earned the honor via votes from teammates.
It’s been a big week for McConkey, whose route running and sure hands have earned him significant praise from analysts and coaches alike, who have watched the practices at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of South Alabama.
“I just wanted another opportunity to come out and show people I’m healthy, show what I can do,” McConkey said during a Wednesday interview. “I’m feeling a lot better. But every single player here is probably feeling something. We haven’t played football in a month, but other than that, I’m feeling pretty good.”
As well he should.
McConkey’s consistency in practice also earned him praise ahead of the upcoming NFL Combine and Georgia’s Pro Day set for March 13.
