INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – It was a busy day Saturday at the NFL Combine as five former Bulldogs took their turn hobnobbing with the media attending the week-long event.
Linebacker Lorenzo Carter was one.
Below, check out his response to five key questions during a Q&A with reporters. You can see the entire interview above.
What did you think about Georgia’s season?
Carter: “The season didn’t end the way we wanted, but I can’t complain. We came back, had a chance to win some championships and celebrate. We definitely did that. We got an SEC Championship. We played hard. That’s all you can ask for at the end of the day.
What do you want to show the coaches and front office personnel who are here?
Carter: “Show them my speed, show them my athleticism, show them everything that I’ve been working on. It’s been a grind. I’m just looking forward to getting out there, letting loose and just showing them what I can do.”
Do you consider yourself a versatile defender?
Carter: “Thankfully I went to a school like Georgia because our defense prepared me for everything. I can do a 3-4 outside linebacker, a 4-3 defensive end. I just want to get after the passer. I want to get back to my roots. I want to go get some sacks.”
Who do you like to compare your game to?
Carter: “I try to pattern my game after Demarcus Ware. He’s a great guy to look up to. He’s a pass rusher, he transitioned to outside linebacker, started dropping a little bit more, so he’s a guy I wouldn’t mind comparisons to.”
What’s the most underrated part of your game?
Carter: “I still think my pass-rushing ability. Some people may see it, others may not. I didn’t get a good chance to show as much as I’d like to, so just being able to go get them. That’s what I want to show.”
