As we look ahead to G-Day on Saturday (1 p.m.), let’s examine some of the players to watch during the annual event.

It’s an opportunity to see what Kirby Smart has to work with this fall.

Let’s start with the offense.

Quarterbacks

• Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi are both expected to rep with the first team. Stockton remains the presumed favorite to be the starter when the Bulldogs open the season against Marshall, but Puglisi will need to be ready and will get a long look on Saturday. Colter Ginn and true freshman Hezekiah Millender will also have some opportunities. Fellow freshman Ryan Montgomery will not play as he continues to recover from ACL surgery.

Offensive Line

• Earnest Greene III: Greene hasn’t been completely healthy this spring but should see some action. He’s been working mostly at right tackle.

• Micah Morris: Morris has reportedly had a solid spring, and that’s good news considering he’s the oldest and most experienced of Georgia’s offensive linemen.

• Juan Gaston II: A true freshman, Gaston has apparently made some headway this spring, working at both tackle and guard. With injuries, the word is he’s received a few first-team reps. Keep an eye on him to see where he lines up.

• Michael Uini: The true sophomore has made strides this spring.

• Bo Hughley: The third-year player should see his share of reps at left tackle with Monroe Freeling expected to be a no-go for Saturday.

• Drew Bobo: Bobo has been banged up as well but should be the main snapper for both quarterbacks.

Running Backs

• Bo Walker: Walker has had a very good camp running and catching the ball out of the backfield. The true freshman will see his share of looks Saturday.

• Chauncey Bowens: Bowens has taken advantage of the opportunities he’s received as he’s tried to show coaches he’s ready to take additional responsibility this fall.

• Dwight Phillips Jr.: Phillips has reportedly hit some big runs this spring. Will he do it on Saturday?

Tight Ends

• Ethan Barbour: Coaches like what he’s shown this spring despite being just an early enrollee.

• Jason Reddell: Second-year player has made progress and is catching the ball well.

Wide Receivers

• Noah Thomas: Texas A&M transfer has fit right in, both as a playmaker and a leader of the team.

• Zachariah Branch: Keep an eye on Branch, who brings a certain sense of electricity over from USC. That is if his hamstring is ok.

• Dillon Bell: The veteran receiver has also been repping at running back, and fans could see him do both on Saturday.

• Talyn Taylor: The freshman has made some big plays in practice.

• CJ Wiley: Former five-star has made tough over-the-middle catches. Is he ready for prime time?
