Dowdells dream comes true
Friday the 13th has been unusually good day for the Georgia Bulldogs. It
started off with the big news of
Roquan Smith deciding to stay home and play
football at
Georgia. That wasn't end of the good news for
Mark Richt and his
staff.
On Friday afternoon, Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside Class of 2016 offensive lineman
decided to end his recruitment and commit to Georgia.
"He has had his heart set on Georgia for a while now so he decided to go with
it," Dowdell's father Darius Dowdell told UGASports.
Offensive line coach
Rob Sale officially extended the scholarship offer to Dowdell on Tuesday.
"When he got the offer, it was like a dream come true," Dowdell's father said.
Dowdell is the second offensive line commitment in the class of 2016 for
Georgia, joining five-star offensive tackle
Ben Cleveland, and is the fifth
commitment overall. He is third offensive lineman along with class of 2015 signees
Sam Madden and
Pat Allen to commit to the Bulldog since Sale took over
the offensive line last month.
Dowdell told UGASports earlier this week he planned to commit at Georgia's
Junior Day on February 21st, but apparently he couldn't wait any longer to announce his
college plans.
I am officially committed to tg University of Georgia
