Dawgs land Rivals100 wide receiver Elijah Moore

Oh, how recruiting boards can change so quickly. As of Tuesday morning, Georgia was sitting with zero commits and 43 offers out at the wide receiver position for the Class of 2018. With the Bulldogs likely only taking two at the position, the opportunities quickly went from wide open to almost closed following the commitment of Rivals100 wide receiver Elijah Moore. The Florida native picked Georgia over Ole Miss.

"With countless discussions and sleepless nights, I have decided to Commit To The University of Georgia," Moore tweeted out Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The St. Thomas Aquinas High standout has claimed one of the two spots for the Bulldogs. Another top receiver target, Kearis Jackson, is announcing his decision on Saturday. If Jackson picks Georgia as well, James Coley could have his wideout class finalized before the Bulldogs play their first game on September 2.

The No. 88 ranked prospect nationally, Moore announced a top three of Miami, Ohio State and Ole Miss back on July 2. With spots being tight for the Hurricanes and Buckeyes, and the uncertainty surrounding Ole Miss due to an NCAA investigation, Georgia swooped in and landed a visit right before the dead period, putting the Bulldogs right in the mix.

Shortly after the visit to Athens, Moore narrowed his choices to Georgia and Ole Miss.

“Georgia’s a great school. Coach [Kirby] Smart is a great coach. Coming from Alabama, he thinks smart," said Moore in an interview with Recruiting Analyst Rob Cassidy. "Everything is good there. They love to throw the ball and get people to the NFL.”

Moore is the second commit for the Bulldogs in the Rivals100 and the 10th pledge for Kirby Smart for the class. Georgia moves into the top 50 in the Class of 2018 with two more big targets scheduled to announce this week with Azeez Olujari and Jackson.
