Clay is set

Recruiting momentum continued for the Bulldogs on Monday evening, as three-star cornerback Chad Clay of Peachtree Ridge announced his intentions to don the red and black in 2016.
"They've always shown the most interest in me," Clay said. "I have the best relationship with the Georgia coaches."

Jeremy Pruitt, who took in the 5-foot-11, 169 pound defender's spring game last Saturday, is bringing the rising senior in with a plan in mind, and Clay feels up to the task.
"He wants me as a corner/nickelback," Clay responded. "I feel like I am bringing a passionate and hard-working player to Georgia."
Clay's announcement has long been teased, but it was just within the last twenty-four hours that the final decision was reached.
"I called the coaching staff Sunday afternoon," Clay said. "They were in a meeting, and I talked to the whole staff. They were very excited."
Now, the staff will look to the Georgia Tech legacy to use his connections to start locking down others, and he's not short of targets.
"I am looking to add my boys Julian Rochester, Kyle Davis, Mecole Hardman, and Demetris Robertson," Clay responded. "I have already been trying to recruit them to Georgia."
As has been the case with many of late, despite the commitment, Clay has no plans to shut his process down completely.
"I am going to still take visits," Clay said. "I plan to visit Auburn, Florida, and Oklahoma."
Interestingly, it appears it was the Ohio State Buckeyes who made strongest last-minute push for the Georgia defensive back and finished second for his services.
"Georgia just presented a better opportunity for me," Clay said of the difference.
Clay plans to major in sports medicine or business in college.
