BIG pickup for Dawgs

For four-star defensive lineman Julian Rochester, the timing was right.
With that, the McEachern standout gave Georgia defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt the best birthday present he could have asked for by committing to the Bulldogs Thursday afternoon.

"It was in due time; it was an opportunity that I've been praying on," Rochester told UGASports in a telephone interview. "I wanted to get my mama up there; my mama really liked it so I went ahead and made the move."
Georgia trailed other schools early on Rochester's recruitment, but a visit to Athens earlier this year vaulted the Dawgs to the top of his list and it never changed and earlier Thursday confirmed his commitment to Rivals.com' Woody Wommack via text.
The four-star prospect has been a top target for Georgia in the Class of 2016 and joins Tyler Clark as the second defensive tackle to commit to the Dawgs this month.
Rochester and Clark formed a close friendship during the Rising Seniors Bowl back in December. The two of them also became close with other top defensive tackle targets for the Bulldogs such as five-star target Derrick Brown and four-star prospect Antwuan Jackson.
Rochester hopes the pair will join him at Georgia in due time.
"I already feel like our defensive line is going to be one of the best in the SEC," Rochester said. "The next five to six years we're going to be unstoppable, we're going to dominate and bring home this national championship."
Rochester hopes to do some recruiting for the Bulldogs next week in Baltimore at Five-Star Challenge.
"That was kind of what I had in mind," Rochester said of committing before the Challenge. "Everything just fell into place."
Rochester, the 46th ranked prospect in the Rivals150, picked Georgia over offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and Tennessee. He becomes the 13th prospect to commit to Georgia and the 10th in-state prospect to become a Dawg.
With the addition of Rochester, that gives Georgia four players currently ranked inside the Top 50, joining quarterback Jacob Eason, offensive lineman Ben Cleveland and defensive end Chauncey Manac.
