Ian Smith was arrested for underage possession
of alcohol by the University of Georgia Police Department. Bail was set at $500.00 Wednesday morning according the Athens-Clarke County jail report.
According to the report (http://www.clarkecountysheriff.org/jailrpt.htm),
Smith was booked at 3:47 a.m. Wednesday. No time for his release was listed. He
name also appears on the UGA Police Report as being apprehended at the corner of
Sanford Drive and Hooper Street at 2:26 a.m.
Smith missed the first two games of the 2006 season serving a suspension for
public intoxication in downtown Athens last spring.
Listed as the team's number two center, Smith is next in line to replace
senior Nick Jones for the2007 season.
