Smart responds to Malzahn

Georgia fans may not have liked what Gus Malzhan had to say in an off-camera remark following Saturday’s win, but according to Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart, he had every right to state what we did.

Shortly after the game, Malzahn was caught on video saying, “We beat the dog crap out of them, didn’t we?”

There was no doubt about that. Auburn's 40-17 victory was certainly a kick in the teeth for the Bulldogs and their fans.

During Monday’s press conference to preview Saturday's game with Kentucky, Smart was asked to respond.

“I’ll be honest with you, when you perform the way they did on the field you earn the right to say really whatever you want, so I don’t get into what Gus says and he probably doesn’t get into what I say,” Smart said.

The Bulldogs could well see the Tigers again.

If Auburn can beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl two weeks from now, Georgia would get a rematch in the SEC Championship on Dec. 2 at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
