RIvals250 offensive lineman Dontrell Glover commits to Georgia

The No. 3 offensive guard in the nation, Dontrell Glover, has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over Tennessee and Florida State. The four-star lineman's pledge comes on the heels of his official visit to Athens this past weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound guard plays at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. He had originally planned to announce on July 1 but decided to move his decision forward.

Glover, a Rivals250 prospect, was originally committed to play for Alabama but reopened his recruitment after Nick Saban retired. Once back on the market, Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels pressed for Glover to become a Bulldog.

After a visit in April to watch Georgia practice, Glover noted that he liked Searels' coaching style.

"He's energetic and he's on all his players' ass no matter from the top to the bottom of the depth chart," Glover said. "Most coaches don't know everybody on the team's name, and he knows all of them, staying on their ass making sure they're in check."

Glover will join another lineman who was previously committed to Alabama. Mason Short backed off his pledge to the Crimson Tide at the same time Glover did and later committed to Georgia in early April.
