DESTIN, Fla. - As expected, Brice Ramsey has decided to finish out his college career as a member of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ramsey’s mother confirmed the decision to UGASports.com.

“Brice visited several schools and in the end, chose to remain at Georgia to not only further his education, but to also contribute anyway he can, as he has shown over the course of the last four year,” Yolando Ramsey told UGASports.com.

The news comes two days after Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart told beat writers attending the SEC Meetings that he was actively recruiting the quarterback to remain with the program.

“I thought there was a chance,” Smart said Tuesday. “I’ve always told Brice, you’ve done everything we’ve asked you to do, on and off the field. He’s a great kid and he competed really hard. I thought he did a great job, and was really involved in the competition. When he came to me and told me to shop elsewhere, I told him I completely agreed and understood that.”

With Ramsey back in the fold, the Bulldogs now have three scholarship quarterbacks along with Jacob Eason and Jake Fromm.

Not only will Ramsey’s presence assist in practice, it would presumably give Smart and offensive coordinator Jim Chaney the opportunity to redshirt Fromm, if the opportunity arose.

Ramsey has been with the team since 2013.
