Here is a deeper look at some interesting stats and nuggets from Georgia’s game against Auburn and what to look forward to in this week’s game against Kentucky.
• In Georgia’s first nine games, the Bulldogs only trailed or a combined 33:18 minutes. In the game against Auburn, they trailed the last 42:03. Last season against Kentucky, Georgia trailed in 30:36 of the game and won on a 25-yard field goal by Rodrigo Blankenship on the game’s last play. The Dawgs did not trail to the Cats (Kentucky) at any point during the 2013, 2014 and 2015 games.
• Georgia has a 56-12-2 advantage in the all-time series against Kentucky. As stated in an article earlier this week, the Bulldogs have done quite well as long as Prince Charles does not show up. If Georgia prevails on Saturday, the wins over Kentucky will be the tied for second most wins against any opponent. Here are the top six…

• Also if Georgia wins, it will be win number ten for them this season and Kirby Smart will tie Jim Donnan and Mark Richt as the Georgia head coaches to reach ten wins in a season the quickest.

• Last week was a bad game for the team and for Nick Chubb. Chubb had a season-low 27 rush yards and that was also the lowest he has had in a game with at least ten rushing attempts. However he did pass Bo Jackson and is now fourth all-time in most career rushing yards in SEC history. Here are the top five…

• In 2014, Chubb dominated Kentucky with 170 yards rushing on 13 attempts. Last season he had just 85 yards on 21 attempts. However, Sony Michel had 127 yards rushing on 19 attempts and the season before that he had 165 yards rushing.
• Michel did not fare so well against Auburn as he had just 21 yards rushing. He did inch closer to Bulldog legend Garrison Hearst (who will be signing autographs at the bookstore prior to the game). He is 90 yards away from tying him for fourth most in a career by a Dawg. Here’s that top five…

• With another 106 yards rushing, Chubb will join Hershel Walker as the only Georgia player to have three 1,000 yard rushing seasons in school history.
• Jake Fromm struggled against the Tigers as well (without a lot of protection). Fromm’s 46.4 completion percentage was his lowest as a collegian and he was sacked a season-high four times. He did have another touchdown pass which gives him 16 on the season. That is tied for the most ever by a Georgia true freshman. Here’s a breakdown on Fromm on each down passing this season.

• It was upsetting that Mecole Hardman had a fumble last week because he was doing very well on returns for the game. In fact, Hardman had 185 yards in returns (142 kickoff, 43 punt). Since 2000, that is the second most return yards by any Georgia player. Brandon Boykin had 187 return yards against South Carolina in 2009 (all kickoff). Only five times has a Georgia player had at least 40 punt return yards and 40 kickoff return yards in the same game in the 2000’s. Here are those five…

• Roquan Smith and Lorenzo Carter were named Butkus Award semifinalists last week (given to the nation’s top linebacker) and this week Smith was added to another list. He was named as a finalist for the Nagurski Award (given to the nation’s top defensive player). There are only five finalists and that award will be announced on December 4. Former Georgia great Champ Bailey won the award in 1998 and David Pollack was a finalist twice in 2012 and 2014. Smith did well against Auburn as he had a season-high 12 tackles. It was the fifth time Smith has had double-digit tackles in his career. Here is an active list on double-digit tackle games by current Bulldogs (J.R. Reed had 11 last week).

• Smith leads the team this season with 82 tackles and is tied for sixth in the SEC averaging 8.2 tackles per game.
• Cameron Nizialek was named a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award (nation’s best punter). While you may not want to see him on the field, Nizialek has done an excellent job. Twenty of his 41 punts this season have been downed inside the 20-yard line and he has an average of 44.4 yards per punt. Former punter Drew Butler won the award as a Bulldog in 2009 and it is with Butler whom Nizialek finds himself on this Bulldog chart.
