No grudges held

Christian Robinson said he had an idea something might be amiss right before returning home following Saturday night's 35-7 loss to South Carolina.

His instincts were correct as the house he shares with quarterback Aaron Murray, tight end Arthur Lynch, snapper Ty Frix and fullback Dustin Royston had been egged and rolled with toilet paper, presumably by angry fans.

"I just turned the corner at the end of the street. I had a feeling that something wasn't right and when I turned the corner, I saw it in the front yards and in the trees," Robinson said after practice Tuesday. "It was disappointing, but our landlord was able to help clean it up. They sent out a pressure washer and I don't think they're going to have to repaint. It was a little disappointing, but we have to move on. I wish we had a game this week to get that bad taste out of everyone's mouth."

Robinson said neither he nor his roommates harbor any ill-will toward the perpetrators.

"It was one incident of being that upset, I guess," Robinson said. "I've heard different things from different people, but ultimately we didn't show up when we needed to and it quickly got out of hand. There's a bunch of plays we'd like to have back."

Murray who was out of town after he returned to Tampa, Fla. to be with his father, who was preparing to undergo surgery for thyroid cancer and did not learn of what happened until later Sunday morning.

Lynch actually started cleaning up the mess when he arrived back at approximately 3 a.m.

"I cleaned it up by myself, because I thought this doesn't need to be shown in the morning," Lynch said. "Everybody found out about because Christian put it on Twitter, but there was more positive feedback from fans and friends, than there was negative. People make choices and we go on with it. It was kind of disheartening, but at the same time when all that went public, I had texts from tons of people saying shame on the people who did that."

Athens Clarke County police were called to the scene, took pictures and actually dusted one of the remaining egg cartons for finger prints.

"I needed eggs in our fridge, so I was hoping they left some for me," Lynch joked. "But it didn't happen that way."

According to Robinson, neighbors told him the incident apparently occurred sometime after midnight.

"I heard from our neighbors when they got back at 1 p.m. and it had already been done, so it was a short period of time," Robinson said. "It was early in the night."

Lynch acknowledged he understands why fans would be upset after such a disappointing loss.

"Oh yeah, after New England loses I say things that I'd never say to one of their players," Lynch laughed. "You get upset when your team loses."

Robinson agreed, adding he was warmed by the responses he later received on Twitter who reminded him that the guilty party does not even represent a miniscule portion of the Bulldog fan base.

"It's a small group of people, we know that," Robinson said. "Right when it happened I had 100 people tweeting me remind me of that, and that was a big thing, especially in our house. It was a small group of people who did this and they probably won't speak up about it."
