Georgia's addition of Trey Hill gives the Bulldogs another stout piece for their offensive line.

At 6-foot-4 and 330 pounds, Hill is one of Georgia's nine early enrollees already on campus going through winter workouts.

While it remains to be seen how much, if any, Hill plays as a true freshman, the four-star performer figures to play a big role for the Bulldogs in the seasons to come.

What Georgia is getting in Hill

A former high school teammate of Jake Fromm, Hill is just the kind of road-grader offensive line coach Sam Pittman loves.

Georgia wants size on its offensive line, and the four-star performer certainly has plenty of that.

How soon Hill sees the field remains to be seen, but moving forward he projects at either right or left guard. Don't be shocked if he ultimately gets a look at center.

Rivals Recruiting Analyst Adam Friedman: "Hill had his ups and downs during the week (at the Army All-American Bowl), and the same was true of his performance during the game. When the Georgia signee lost, it was because he couldn’t move laterally quick enough to stay in front of the defender. The strength and conditioning staff at Georgia will make sure Hill loses the weight and gets quicker once he gets on campus."

What to expect

Hill needs to get in better physical shape and lose some weight, but that won't be a problem under head strength coach Scott Sinclair.

Though it might not happen for a couple of years due to Georgia's improved depth on the offensive line, Hill will have an opportunity to make a significant impact before his Bulldog career his done.

Although he needs to work on his lateral movement, Hill has always had good fundamentals, with solid footwork and violent hands.

Playing time prediction

In previous years, it would be easy to see Hill contending for playing time right off the bat for the Bulldogs.

But with the team's improved depth on the offensive line, there's a fair chance that Hill winds up redshirting his freshman year.

That may be the option.

Let Hill spend the year getting himself in college shape, then turn him lose to be an integral part of Georgia's two-deep with a chance to win a starting job.

"I am excited about what lies ahead at Georgia. To see what coach Smart has done and to know the coaches that are there and the community that it there, that is exciting"
