Kings days are done
Running back Caleb King has been ruled academically ineligible and will not play for the Bulldogs this upcoming year, UGA officials confirmed.
A senior, King rushed for 430 yards on 80 carries with two touchdowns for the Bulldogs last year.

The announcement appears to be the final chapter in what's been a career of speed bumps for King, who was suspended for two games last season for failure to appear at court date in Walton County to answer a traffic violation. He later missed the Liberty Bowl because of academic issues.
"It's unfortunate Caleb will not be with us this season," said head coach Mark Richt in a statement. "We wish him the best in whatever he decides to do; however, we have to move forward and this will provide more opportunities for others to step up."
A press release from Georgia said King will consider available options before deciding what to do next.
With King - who was listed atop the depth chart following spring practice - no longer in the picture, it puts Georgia's situation at running back certainly looks much different than it did three months ago.
The Bulldogs were already without Washaun Ealey, who was granted his release and since transferred to Jacksonville State leaving Georgia with touted freshman Isaiah Crowell, redshirt freshman Ken Malcome, junior Carlton Thomas and walk-on Brandon Harton who impressed coaches with his performance during the spring.
King finishes his Georgia career with 255 carries for 1,271 yards and 10 touchdowns.
