"Kwanza is like family to me. He's one of my best friends, not only in the coaching business but in life," head coach Mark Fox said in a statement. "He's done a great job for us the past seven years, both at Nevada and here at Georgia, so his contributions to our staff will be missed. We certainly wish him and his family the very best."
Johnson just wrapped up his fourth season with Georgia, having come over with Fox from his previous job at Nevada. A 1995 graduate of the University of Tulsa, Johnson played collegiately for former Georgia coach Tubby Smith before earning a law degree from Tulsa in 1999.
At Texas Christian, Johnson joins head coach Trent Johnson, who preceded Fox at Nevada from 2000 to 2004.
