Godwin in the house

After weeks of handwringing, five-star athlete Terry Godwin finally made it official Wednesday night, announcing once and for all that he was going to be a Georgia Bulldog.
Georgia received his letter of intent shortly after the ceremony. The nation's top-ranked athlete according to Rivals.com made the announcement live on Fox Sports South, choosing Georgia over the rival Auburn Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide.

"It feels great," Godwin said during his TV interview. "When I first went there I knew it was the school for me."
Godwin said head coach Mark Richt was understandably excited when he called to inform him of his final decision earlier in the day.
"He was pumped up, he and the rest of the coaching staff," Godwin said. "They were very excited."
Godwin committed to the Bulldogs almost a year ago, but in recent weeks began to show interest in both Alabama and Auburn each made huge runs for the former Callaway standout.
His announcement ceremony was different than most. With helmets of Auburn, Georgia and Alabama on the table in front, he made his decision public having five family members and friends turn around to reveal "Still, 100% U G A" emblazoned on the back of T-shirts while the rest of his large entourage looked on.
"My parents came up with that," Godwin said. "We just thought we'd do something different."
Godwin said a number of future teammates and even one future rival reached out to him on Tuesday before Wednesday's big announcement was made.
"Oh yeah, I talked to Trenton Thompson, Darius Slayton, Jayson Stanley and some other folks like that," Godwin said.
He claims only one knew what he was going to do.
"The only person who really knew was Trenton," Godwin said. "We communicated together a lot. We made a bond like brothers."
Godwin gives the Bulldogs 29 signees for the Class of 2015. But will he be the last?
The five-star performer said he's been following the situation involving Roquan Smith, who committed to UCLA but has yet to send in his letter of intent.
Godwin said he hadn't yet spoken to Smith about what's on his mind.
"I don't know what he's going to do," Godwin said. "We'll just have to watch and see."
