DESTIN, Fla. – With the rest of Georgia’s signing class in the process of reporting to campus Tuesday, Kirby Smart was asked if he expected the rest of his remaining group to be eligible to play right away.

Right now, it’s too early to tell.

“It’s hard to say right now because today is the first day that all the transcripts are pouring in and getting the official stamped document,” Smart said during a session with beat writers Tuesday at the SEC Meetings. “Even though school’s out we don’t get those transcripts a lot of times until today, so we’ll know a lot more in the next week than we do now.”

But he’s got his fingers crossed.

With summer classes set to begin next week, he hopes there won’t be any last-second snafus that could cause a delay when it comes to getting their college careers underway.

Smart was equally unsure as to how it pertains to the 85-scholarship limit.

“I won’t know the answer to that until every guy is there for summer school and we’ve still got guys coming in, enrolling, trying to get everything figured out so that 85-count probably won’t be done until fall camp,” Smart said. “Maybe not even then.”
