Ellerbe to be suspended for three games

ATHENS------- University of Georgia redshirt sophomore linebacker Dannell Ellerbe will be suspended for the first three games of the 2006 season as a result of an auto accident and subsequent alcohol-related charges last January according to UGA head coach Mark Richt.
"Dannell made a serious mistake that is not taken lightly," said Richt. "He will pay a significant price and I¹m confident he has
learned an important lesson."
Richt said Ellerbe will also be subject to internal discipline.
The charges against Ellerbe have been heard and resolved by both the UGA Student Judiciary and the Athens-Clarke County authorities.
A native of Hamlet, N.C., Ellerbe played in 10 games for the Bulldogs
last season as a backup linebacker. He recorded 15 tackles.
