Walker Already Holds Dream Offer

Standout out defensive end Travon Walker makes a living in the backfield of his opponents, but the offer list has been at a standstill. The rising junior holds three offers, which are Alabama, Appalachian State, and the homestate Georgia Bulldogs. He discussed his process today.

IN HIS OWN WORDS:

"I have Florida State, Clemson, and schools like that looking at me. Also Oregon. They are coming, I know it's coming, it just takes time. Not really [anyone sticking out], I am just trying to enjoy the ride."

ON GEORGIA: "I really love the coaching staff. Also the environment when I was there, it was just crazy. Coach [Tracy] Rocker, he is a pretty cool coach. He is going to keep it 100 with you. He is not going to sugarcoat anything. He is going to tell you what you need to work on because there is always something to work on. I been to Georgia about four or five times. It is basically in the middle of downtown Athens so everything is basically right there. I look at the fact Georgia puts rush guys in the league at my position along with the depth chart so that is why I am interested in them."

ON ALABAMA: "Alabama, they are pretty cool. I have only been down there one time and that is when I went down there for the little private workout but I am trying to make it down some more, but I just have never had time."

DREAM OFFER: "Georgia was my dream offer and I already got that. So now, it is just whoever else comes. If teams shows me interest, I will show interest back in them."

The King Speaks

Playing on the opposite side of the defensive line of Travon Walker is Troup County standout King Mwikuta. He holds several big offers including Alabama, Auburn, Louisville and several others, but there is a couple offers he really wants.

IN HIS OWN WORDS:

"This week is an opportunity to play out here with different people but I feel like my position group, the defensive line, we just made a connection the last two days. I just wish all of us could go to the same school and play with each other. My dream offers are Georgia and Miami. The Georgia commits are working on me. They working on me good. It is always good to stay in state, but sometimes you have to try stuff new. Maybe I would like to stay in-state, maybe I would not but I am not going to say right now."

ON MIAMI: "I just like that orange and green. Plus, Mark Richt that was recently at Georgia, he went down there so I would like to get down there and visit with him and the team. Just to go down there, it was always a place I would like to get down to and see anyway."

ON GEORGIA: "I have an 82.5 inch wing span so they had compared me to Leonard Floyd so that really made me like Georgia. They said he was about 6-foot-3, 250 pounds and had long arms and he in the NFL. I had sat down and talked to my grandma about it and she was like 'if that's what you want to do in the future, then go ahead and try it. I really want to be a radiologist and be a doctor when I get older. Georgia is a good school and they have a good doctoral school. So does Miami."

ON GEORGIA COACHES: "Coach Dell McGee, he is the running back coach and he recruits our area. The coach that stands out to me and I look up to as a father figure is Coach [Kevin] Sherrer. I like him a lot. I look at him like a father. I been up there like four times, and every time I am with him everywhere he goes. Everywhere he goes I was right on him like a puppy following a human."

WHAT A GEORGIA OFFER WOULD MEAN: "A lot coach. I am waiting on it. I am waiting for that day that they call me. Not rushing it because I am only a sophomore and really, it starts heating up my junior year, but that is one of my top three schools that I would likely be considering in the future. If I just get that one offer right there I will be good. I will not have to worry about anything else."

Another Fromm emerges

Georgia quarterback signee Jake Fromm may not be the last member of his family to end up playing college football at the highest level. His younger brother Tyler Fromm, a wide receiver in the 2019 class, looks like a prospect schools will want to take notice of if practice at the Elite Junior Classic is any indication.

So far, it's been all quiet for the younger Fromm.

"I haven't heard from any schools yet," Fromm said. "I'd like to hear from of course Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and all those schools around here."

Tyler Fromm says Kirby Smart and his ability to recruit is ultimately why his brother chose to play for Georgia instead of sticking with his initial commitment to Alabama.

"Recruiting now for them has been amazing with everybody they have coming in, but Kirby was definitely a guy he liked and wanted to play for," Fromm said.

The younger Fromm has developed a strong bond with Georgia's new staff as well through his brother.

"I've developed a good relationship with them too," Fromm said. "I love those guys. Coach Smart and Coach [Jim] Chaney, I love them. I like what they are doing on offense up there."

As for Georgia's 2017 recruiting class, Tyler Fromm says he's blown away by not only what the staff has done but what his brother and fellow Georgia commit Richard LeCounte have done.

"It's crazy," Fromm said. "Him and Richard LeCounte have done a lot. Richard does a lot of recruiting."

Sleeper Alert

Wide receiver Milton Jackson quietly had a big year down at Coffee County High School as he came up with 86 catches for 1039 yards with three touchdowns. This week at the Elite Junior Classic, he's continued to build off that success.

Recruiting has been relatively slow for Jackson, but expect the process to pick up for the speedster from South Georgia.

"I'm not really sure which schools are recruiting me," Jackson said. "My coach said a bunch have come through the school, but I don't know any specific schools."

There are a few schools Jackson hopes come calling, one in particular.

"I want to hear from Alabama most definitely," Jackson said. "I like their organization. I want to hear from Clemson, Georgia, Florida, and Florida State and all the big schools."

Jackson doesn't know a ton about Georgia's new coaching staff yet, but likes the Bulldogs overall.

"Georgia, they have a nice program," Jackson said. "I really like them."

FEW MORE STANDOUTS FROM DAY TWO:

Deandre Shelton: The class of 2019 linebacker from Howard is just a beast in the middle of the defense. Shelton's ability to play sideline to sideline, but also get up field in fill the gaps is very impressive for a prospect his age. This will be a prospect to watch moving forward in the upcoming years.

Jalyn Phillips: The class of 2019 standout safety from Archer High School was impressive in coverage during 7-on-7 this afternoon. Several pass deflections while also jumping a seam route for an interception highlights the day.

Oyenmewen Uzebu: The class of 2018 offensive lineman was very impressive in run blocking. When he gets his long arms extended and his hands locked on the defender, he finishes the block. He showed great feet and bend throughout the day.
