Dawgs get No. 25

The Georgia Bulldogs have received a verbal commitment from Mississippi
offensive lineman Josh Davis who had been committed to the Ole Miss Rebels.
Davis' informed of his decommitted to Ole Miss and commitment
to UGA a couple of weeks ago, but he was not willing to go on the record with an
official announcement at that time. Instead, fearing a backlash at home, he
wanted to wait until closer to national signing day.
"I am going to the University of Georgia," Davis told Sunday
Davis unofficially visited Athens in October for the Arkansas game."We got there a little late, so I missed the time before the game. We walked in right before kick-off.,"
he said at the time. "The fans were really loud and into the game. It was a good crowd.
I really liked the fans and the atmosphere. It felt good to be there. . . . I
probably will visit them officially, but I am not sure when."
His interest in
the Dawgs grew over time and he decided to take an official visit to Athens this
weekend. It seems he decided to go public and change his commitment from Ole
Miss to Georgia.
A position of great need for the Bulldogs this year, Davis is UGA's seventh
commitment on the offensive line (though one or more of these players couple end
up on the DL). hopes to get more on this story as the day goes on.
