Dawgs flip Gamecocks commit

Georgia took another step toward getting larger in the trenches on Monday afternoon, as the Bulldogs were able to flip the commitment of defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt of Towers High School.

Wyatt, a 6-foot-4, 298 pound lineman, committed to the Gamecocks on June 8, but two months later, he has confirmed to UGASports.com that he intended to be a Bulldog on signing day.

A star on the summer workout circuit, Wyatt rose quickly on many recruiting boards and boosted his stock with Georgia through his work at at the I-Dare-U satellite camp in Atlanta, only one week after his commitment, and again when working out for coaches in Athens in mid-July.

He is rated a three-star prospect in the 2017 class, and he becomes their fifteenth commitment overall in the class. Other three-star players include defensive back Latavious Brini, wide receiver Matthew Landers, and offensive guard Justin Shaffer.
